JV Evangelism vs. Jesus Evangelism

(3 Votes)

Dear family, starting this Sunday I will be starting a series about evangelism. We all have heard of the “Roman Roads” or “Four Spiritual Laws” or Personal Evangelism, but Jesus Evangelism is the best of all methods that we have come up with. We know that our goal is to see as many people as possible come to heaven with us, but the problem is we don’t truly take it to heart…make it a reality in our lives. If you like football you know what JV stands for – Junior Varsity, 2nd team; one more years until you are on the Varsity, playing before the big crowds on Friday nights. You are almost there.

Tucker, Hot Dogs and God’s Word

(4 votes)

Last July our son, Joshua, walked into the house with a 3 month old yellow lab. He was adorable! All the puppy things we loved about puppies when we were growing up; laying on the floor and letting him chew on your ears; puppy breath; rushing to get them out doors when they get “that look” on their face. Fast forward 9 months and Tucker is now a horse. 80lbs and still growing, but we love him. We are keeping Tucker while Josh is in transition between places to live up at College Station – Texas A & M.

The Difference Between Good Days and Bad Days

(4 votes)

Today I did something different. I have been a minister here in Needville for almost 5 years and I have never done what I did today….I walked to the Post Office. It is such a beautiful day and the walk was wonderful except, unlike Nancy Sinatra, “my boots ain’t made for walkin’”. As I walked down Richmond Street I thanked God for the sun, the birds, the cool breeze; I thought about the times I walked to school as a kid or doing my paper route after school on days like today. As I walked by our church I prayed for the NCC family and special needs I knew of and as I past by Grace Community Fellowship I prayed for Pastor Allen and the family of God there. I walked by the Brazosview Apartments and prayed for Sahaid and his mother, Victoria, Justine and Gabriel, Mike and Krystal Solomon and their children and Mary the manager.
